Chapter 1222 - 1261: There’s Always a Tomorrow
——"I’m tired of guessing how many ties are left between you and Daniel Harris, how much affection you still have for him, and how much of a past you both share. Have you thought about me when you go looking for him again and again? Since you can’t completely sever the ties between you and him, this time, let me sever the ties between us."
——"Let’s end it here between us. From now on, you are you, and I am me."
In his ears, all he could hear was his own voice. Had he really said these words to her before? His head felt as if it were about to explode, those voices and images continuously intertwining in his mind.
Kyle Kinston covered his head with both hands, his sharp eyes seemingly bloodshot.
Daniel Harris... had that man really ever interfered so deeply between them? Was the person in her heart Daniel Harris?
Why couldn’t he remember?
"Ah... ah..." The sound of painful and suppressed screams kept echoing in the car, and he merely held his head, continually enduring the waves of pain in his mind.

Mabel Quinn brought Daniel Harris into the house, and he glanced at the room’s decor, which was elegant and refreshing, quite fitting with the image she gave off.
"Where’s your daughter? Not at home?" Daniel Harris asked.
"She’s in kindergarten, middle class right now, and it’s not dismissal time yet," Mabel Quinn answered.
"Oh right, I forgot. A 5-year-old should be in kindergarten," Daniel Harris remarked.
"Would you like something to drink? Tea, a soft drink, or maybe coffee?" Mabel Quinn asked.
"Tea, please," Daniel Harris replied with a smile.
Mabel Quinn went to the kitchen to make tea, and Daniel Harris, seeing a photo frame on a desk in the living room, noticed a photo of a woman holding a smiling 4 to 5-year-old girl. The picture was warm, evoking a comforting feeling.
This little girl... she must be Mabel’s child, Daniel thought. The girl’s facial outline, nose, and mouth resembled Mabel, yet those sharp eyes were very like Kyle Kinston’s.
This was the child Mabel desperately wanted to bring into the world all those years ago?
Daniel Harris looked at the photo, lost in thought.
When Mabel Quinn brought out the tea, she saw Daniel Harris looking at the photo, and she said, "This little girl is Ivy."
"I guessed it," Daniel Harris said. "What a beautiful little girl. I can tell you’ve raised her well."
"To me, she is almost everything now, as if anything good, I want to give to her. Perhaps this is what it feels like to be a mother," Mabel Quinn said with a smile.
Daniel Harris took a gentle sip of the fragrant tea, and the two sat there in the living room, chatting about their experiences over the past years, as if the six years had passed in just that short hour.
Daniel Harris originally wanted to stay and wait for Katherine Quinn to come back, to see her before leaving, but he received a phone call about an issue at the newly invested cinema that needed his attention.
"You should go handle it. I’m here for now. If you want to see Ivy, there will be plenty of opportunities to do so," Mabel Quinn said.
Daniel Harris looked deeply at Mabel Quinn, then smiled a little, "Yes, there will be time for that." Now, he had found her, and she was alive, living well, and that was better than anything.
